FAIR and GOA Membership Approve Merger
With an impressive voter turnout, the membership of FAIR and GOA (General Organizers Association), voted to approve the merger of the two unions into one.
“A majority of both memberships turned out to vote in overwhelming support of this merger. This is truly a great accomplishment and historic event within FAIR as our Union continues to grow with the support of the membership,” said President Heise.
The combined membership will continue under the banner of FAIR, Federation of Agents and International Representatives, as FAIR celebrates its 35th anniversary this year.
GOA Approves Merger with FAIR
In a historic move, the GOA (General Organizers Association) membership, who represents members within the UFCW International Union and local bodies, approved the merger between GOA and FAIR.
“Strength through unity is what Unions are all about,” said President Heise. “When this merger is complete we will have a stronger, more unified voice at the bargaining table. I urge the FAIR membership to stand with me and vote ‘Yes’ in support of this merger.”
Merger details are being mailed to FAIR members for approval.
